Kickin n Screamin came out of her race in good shape. She was a bit tired which is to be expected as she tries really hard and the turf was a little soft which tends to take more out of horses than firmer turf. I would think that we will wait for a spot in roughly 30-40 days again as we want to continue to space her races out and let her recover fully before asking her to go again. With a little better trip I believe that we would have been second. She fits well in that class and with a bit of racing luck, we should be able to get her in the winners circle before the end of the meet down there.
Sumwonlovesyou is doing really well out at the farm. She may get some turnout time soon if her scans comeback good.
I went to Ocala on Monday to check the progress of my 2 year olds and I came away very happy with their status. The one who I was most pleased with was Aldebutante. She looks so much better and healthier than she did this fall that I was amazed. She has put on some muscle from training and matured quite a bit in the month since I saw her. Her coat is looking much better and her overall presense is outstanding. Kenny has moved her up in his training sets to go in company with the horses that have been training since early fall since she was doing everything so easily. There is still a stubborn streak in her but he feels that barring some unforseen injury like sore shins there is no reason that she wont race this summer. She reminds us both of a filly I bought 2 years ago that Kenny broke and got ready for the races called Genuine Devotion who was a stakes winner in NY last fall. She has the same stride, similar conformation and attitude that the other filly has. Hopefully she can match or exceed her on the track.
I spoke with Scott yesterday about Rampillion. He is pleased with her work and how she has been handling things. We are still taking it slow with her as to not have any more setbacks but she is going well at the moment.
