Aldebutante is close to getting back on the work tab as she progresses in her training. She is due for a few strong two minute clips and will follow up soon after with a three furlong breeze.
Kickin N Screamin has settled in at Arlington Park and may run the 22nd of this month in a $5000 claiming race for fillies and mares going 1 1/16th. The new condition book just came out and there may be a better spot if we don't make the 22nd.
Sumwonlovesyou has settled in over at Richland Hills farm and will be bred to Purim soon.
Missus Mayflower is doing well though she can still be a bit of a handful. Cherie has been working with her at the end of the morning which gives her more time to ride her around.
Harold, Run Burgundy and Redboard King are all progressing nicely though slower than hoped. Redboard King had an abscess in his foot that we treated at BEC for a few days but he is back in regular training.
Rampillion is back at the track and should work soon. Plans for her next race are still in the air though there are endless possibilities.

Sumwonlovesyou injured, retired
Unfortunate news to report as Sumwonlovesyou has been sidelined with a suspensory injury and we have decided that it will be in her best interests to retire her. Here is a copy of Steve's letter to the partners.
It's taken me the better part of the day to complete this note as the news today was exceedingly difficult to deal with... Sumwonlovesyou has torn the upper suspensory ligament in her lower left front and will be unable to continue her racing career.
The injury made itself apparent Tuesday, and though the swelling had come down today, scans revealed the extent of the damage. Given her age and prior injury/illness, we would be forced to sit her out at least 6 months before re-evaluating, and there would still be no guarantee she could return at that point. As a result, Chuck has made the call that she be retired.
We have spent the day making arrangements to have Sumwonlovesyou bred in the next 17-21 days so she could deliver approximately an April 2010 foal. We will seperately address the future of the original 'Dee Tee 01' partnership and the options regarding the morphing of it into a breeding deal of some kind.
Needless to say, for us collectively, this is both a sad day and one filled with many emotions. For the majority of you, this was your 'first horse' as an owner, and marks your involvement in racing on a very different level. Sumwonlovesyou brought us into the sales ring and to four of the games most famed racing ovals: Keeneland, Churchill, Arlington and Saratoga.
In many ways, no matter where the Dee Tee Stables experience takes us long term, those first 8 months with "SWLY" may never be duplicated for the sheer excitement, drama, tension and exhileration produced. Sumwonlovesyou took us from anonymous fandom to owners of the public betting favorite on a Saratoga Sunday.
Though she could not get us into the winner's circle, it certainly wasn't for lack of effort on her part. The harrowing second place finishes in top company Derby Week, through the Arlington summer try, made 2007 a thrilling blur for our fledgling stable, and helped give rise to another 7 runners that carry or are soon to carry our Lime and Royal silks. And while there will hopefully be many more wins to go with the two by Kickin N Screamin, the agonizing but emboldening efforts of Sumwonlovesyou will always be the foundation of friendships on which Dee Tee Stables was built.
Thanks of course go to Chuck first and foremost for identifying SWLY in the catalog, authoring her improvement and shouldering a financial burden while trying to get her back to the races. Thanks to the entire CES Racing Team for their efforts with her and Cherie particularly who was frequently worn out by Sumwon in the mornings.
Bethani White gets our unending thanks as well. If Sumwonlovesyou goes on to a productive career as a broodmare, it is because Bethani likely saved her life with a decisive call for veterinary intervention on her infected hoof last summer.
Thanks of course to the 50 or so of you who eagerly sent $500 apiece into the mail to make an unlikely dream come true for yourselves and people you didn't know. And finally, thanks to the mint-crazed daughter of Came Home and Mysterious Moll who will never stop being our favorite racehorse... the perfectly named Sumwonlovesyou.
With unending appreciation for your support and enthusiasm,
Steve Byk and Chuck Simon

Kickin heading home
Kickin and Screamin is heading back to Kentucky this week after her 6th place effort at Atlantic City. She will head to BEC for a week of R&R before heading to Arlington Park to run over the polytrack on which she won for us last year.
Aldebutante is progressing nicely and will have a few strong gallops before her first work back.
Redboard King popped an abscess out of his right hind foot which led us to walking him under tack for a few days. He has recovered fine and will resume regular training this week.
Missus Mayflower is at CDT, has adapted to racetrack life and is galloping well.
Rampillion is heading back to the track this week.

Kickin at Atlantic City
Kickin n Screamin has arrived safely at the Philly Park barn of Sharon Banford in advance of her 2009 turf debut in the 2nd race at Atlantic City racecourse on Thursday afternoon. The race, which is a starter allowance going 1 mile and 40 yards, will most likely be contested over a soggy grass course after some recent rainy weather in New Jersey. Kickin has been training well and appears primed to fire her best shot in the $20000 race. Steve was quite pleased on his arrival in Louisville last week with the fillys physical appearance, a bright shiny coat and holding her weight. Pedro Cotto will ride Kickin n Screamin who will leave from post position 3 in a field of 12 with post time listed at 4:00 eastern. She is listed at 8-1 in the morning line but good luck getting that!
Sumwonlovesyou will work tomorrow morning at 9am at CDT if the track is in good shape. There is rain in the forecast but that doesn't mean much around here. She will be going three furlongs once again.

Sumwonlovesyou works!
Sumwonlovesyou posted her first work in 18 months this morning at CDT, going three furlongs in 38.40. Cherie had a good hold of the filly throughout the work and said that she felt great and wasn't really winded afterwards. She cooled out quickly and looked bright and alert afterwards. This is a big step for her in her recovery and return to an active racing career. Bethani White did a great job with her while in recovery at BEC and Cherie has also done great job working with her since her return to the track. We will keep our fingers crossed that she comes out of the work in good shape and move along in her training.

Kickin n Screamin and the rest of the gang
Kickin n Screamin exited her hard fought victory last Thursday at Turfway in good shape. She earned a 60 Beyer speed figure for the win which is in line with what she was running last summer at Arlington Park. We are considering a start at Atlantic City Racecourse on the 23rd for her next start. it would be a return to the turf in a starter allowance race. There are logistical issues that must be dealt with since Atlantic City is strictly a "ship-in" facility and Kickin needs to be doing well in order to make such a long trip. However we will try to make this unique opportunity work for all the East coast and Mid- Atlantic partners that would attend this race.
Aldebutante continues to do well in her recovery and is about ready to begin the next stage of her rehabilitation.
Run Burgundy has arrived at CDT and is officially in full racehorse training.
Harold Carmichael and Redboard King are also at CDT and are both training fine though Redboard King has shown some attitude issues that Cherie is dealing with.
Sumwonlovesyou is training great and has had a few strong gallops that are precursors for her first breeze which should come around the 15th on the month.
Missus Mayflower will be ready to come to the racetrack around the 20th of April.
Rampillion has been slow to recover from her grabbed quarter and wont make another start till May.

Rampillion ok, Kickin In
Rampillion came out of her event filled 2nd place finish in good shape except for a small dime sized chunk missing from the quarter of her left foot. We will take her to BEC this week and treat her with hyperbaric oxygen and a special hydrogen peroxide solution, a combination that we have had great success with healing grabbed quarters with. I dont anticipate her missing much training time.
Kickin N Screamin has been entered for April 2 at Turfway which happens to be closing day. She drew post position number 4 of 12 in a $7500 NW3 claiming race going 1 mile on the polytrack. More on the race later in the week.

Rampillion on Friday night
Rampillion has drawn post position number one in the 7th race on Friday night at Turfway Park. The race is a maiden $7500 going six and a half furlongs on the polytrack and post time is 8:11 EST. We added blinkers for this race trying to get her to focus more in the early part of the race. Rampillion worked really well this morning in preparation for this race going a half mile in 48.20. Diego Rodriguez will ride.

Kickin third in comeback
Kickin n Screamin ran third today in the second race at Turfway. She was closer to the front than usual after breaking sharply from the outside post position. The pace was pretty slow even by Turfway standards and she moved three wide to get to the front at the top of the stretch. However she got a little tired in the lane and we had to settle for third, beaten a little less than 2 lengths. All in all it wasn't a bad effort and the fact is that she is a hard horse to have ready off of a layoff because you simply cant train her very hard. There is a good chance that we will wheel her back to run on April 2nd in race with the same conditions as todays.
Sumwonlovesyou is galloping a mile and a quarter everyday and is doing great.
Run Burgundy is going to go to Keeneland on Monday.
The two Smarty Jones two year olds are coming in to CDT this weekend.

Wednesday
Kickin N Screamin has drawn into the 2nd race on Wednesday at Turfway Park. The race is a $7500 Nw3 claiming race going 1 mile on the polytrack and she will be ridden by Hector Rosario, Jr. Post time is set for 1:37 Eastern and she is starting from post position number seven in a field of seven fillies and mares. While the morning line has not been set I would assume that she will be one of the choices.
