Kickin N Screamin worked an easy 1/2 mile this morning in 51.1 at Tampa. We had taken it easy with her since the last race, with a lot of turnout time and some jogging and easy gallops. She worked fine and was eager throughout and when galloping out. The race on April 1st is a good fit and she will have 2 more works before that race. Daniel Centano is going to ride her back.
Sumwonlovesyou is hand walking 20 minutes a day and may get some turnout time by the end of the month.
Aldebutante has been doing some easy works, 1/4 miles in 30 seconds and things like that. Kenny reports that everything is moving forward with her. I am going to be in Ocala next weekend for the sales and will watch her train a few times.
Rampillion is still doing well. She along with a few of her barn mates got a little sick last week but they have recovered quickly. Partner Paul Harte will be visiting her this week and promises pictures.

Kickin and other things
Kickin n Screamin seemed to come out of her race in good order. We will wait for the next $50000 NW2LT before we run her back. Since we now have the special date in our favor we are guaranteed to get in the race we choose. Since there is nothing in the book and the fact that they chewed up the course a little when running the stake on the soft ground and may be wary of running too many turf races in the next few weeks, it could be a month until we run again or even into April. That would most likely be our final Tampa start and we have to start thinking about where she will be running this summer.
Someonelovesyou is doing fine out at the farm. She is being hand walked for 15 minutes a day and is undergoing shockwave treatment once a week for a few weeks. Her scans came back pretty good and hopefully she continues to improve. There is no timetable for her return to training but I would guess this summer (Mid May?) at the earliest.
Steve will be posting pictures of Aldebutante from his Sunday morning visit on the Derbytrail web site this week. She continues to train forwardly and is looking great.
Rampillion had her knees x rayed this week and they were still not closed and as such we will continue to take our time with her. She is galloping in sets and is doing everything well. Scott promised to take some pictures of her and send them up though I doubt his photographic skills are much better than mine (which means bad).

Kickin n Screamin post race report
Kickin n Screamin came out of her race in good shape. She was a bit tired which is to be expected as she tries really hard and the turf was a little soft which tends to take more out of horses than firmer turf. I would think that we will wait for a spot in roughly 30-40 days again as we want to continue to space her races out and let her recover fully before asking her to go again. With a little better trip I believe that we would have been second. She fits well in that class and with a bit of racing luck, we should be able to get her in the winners circle before the end of the meet down there.
Sumwonlovesyou is doing really well out at the farm. She may get some turnout time soon if her scans comeback good.
I went to Ocala on Monday to check the progress of my 2 year olds and I came away very happy with their status. The one who I was most pleased with was Aldebutante. She looks so much better and healthier than she did this fall that I was amazed. She has put on some muscle from training and matured quite a bit in the month since I saw her. Her coat is looking much better and her overall presense is outstanding. Kenny has moved her up in his training sets to go in company with the horses that have been training since early fall since she was doing everything so easily. There is still a stubborn streak in her but he feels that barring some unforseen injury like sore shins there is no reason that she wont race this summer. She reminds us both of a filly I bought 2 years ago that Kenny broke and got ready for the races called Genuine Devotion who was a stakes winner in NY last fall. She has the same stride, similar conformation and attitude that the other filly has. Hopefully she can match or exceed her on the track.
I spoke with Scott yesterday about Rampillion. He is pleased with her work and how she has been handling things. We are still taking it slow with her as to not have any more setbacks but she is going well at the moment.

Kickin n Screamin works
Kickin n Screamin worked 1/2 mile yesterday at Tampa in 50.60. She started off at an even clip and picked up the pace through the stretch under restraint from Rosemary Homeister who was aboard for the work. TC reports that she cooled out well and was in good shape this morning. The just released condition book shows a race for her under the same conditions as her last on January 29th going 1 1/16th on the grass. The race is on a Tuesday afternoon card and Rosie will ride her back. We may give her an easy work toward the end of the week but it may be too slow too even consider a timed work, something like 5 in 108, just to let her stretch her legs a bit.
I visited Sumwonlovesyou earlier this week at her current home in Shelbyville. She is sound and looks good, albeit a bit bored. We will scan her leg this week and try to get a better idea of how it is healing.
Good reports on both 2 year olds though there are few details to share. At this point in their training no news is the goal.

Kickin n Screamin post race report
Kickin N Screamin seems to have come out of her race in good shape. She has lost a bit of weight which is to be expected but otherwise is sound and happy. As Steve alluded to on Derby Trail, we are inclined to space her races out, trying not to squeeze her too much since she tends to be light. This means passing on the next race on the 15th to wait for the next race , most likely the first week of February. As always the partners that were in attendance were awesome and everybody seemed to enjoy the day despite the tough loss.
Sumwonlovesyou has been relocated to a friends farm in Shelbyville, Kentucky which is midway between Louisville and Lexington. She will be on stall rest for around 6 weeks before we reexamine her. I visited her on Monday and she seemed to be adjusting to her new surrounding nicely.
Aldebutante is doing well in Ocala. I was able to pay her a visit last week and was pleased with her development. She is growing in the right direction and her on track reports are good. (pics coming)
Rampillion's ankles have settled down and she will go back to full training later in the month.

Kickin n Screamin
KnS is doing well at Tampa. Hopefully you have seen Leo's pictures of her playing in the round pen this morning. She came out of her work in good order and will work next Saturday morning before her race on the 28th. Willie Martinez was scheduled to ride but injured his knee and probably wont be back until after Jan. 1st. I am going to have Rosemary Homeister work her and if they get along will probably ride her on the filly.
Sumwonlovesyou continues to have her training schedule interrupted by weather and a nagging infection in her leg. Hopefully we can get a solid week of training in her and be able to do a little serious work.
Aldebutante is doing well. I am going to see her after Xmas and will try to get some pictures.
Rampillion has had some filling in her front ankles and we have stopped training her on the track and are just riding her around until the ankles are 100%. It is not a big issue, just her way of telling us that we may be moving too fast for her.

Update Time
As most of you know, Kickin N Screamin has arrived in her winter quarters at Tampa Bay Downs. She got in yesterday in the morning and she shipped well. We are hand walking her this morning and she will go to the track for a light jog tomorrow. If all goes well she may work on Monday, the 10th. After talking it over with Steve I believe we are better suited to run in the starter ace on the 28th. It will give her ample time to settle in to the new surroundings and the race itself may be better suited (easier) for her. Tampa is notorious for taking races off the turf but I think that the dirt surface will be ok for her to run on unless it is soupy, for those thinking of making some post Xmas travel plans for her race. We will keep you posted.
Churchill has moved training hours to 11-2 so anyone in the area who wants to take a peek at Sumwonlovesyou in training can stop by at a more reasonable hour to see her. She is doing well, may have a work in 10 days or so if the weather holds out. As Steve pointed out in his update, we are still pointing to a starter race at Oaklawn either going 6 furlongs or 1 mile depending on the level of fitness of Sumwon. She will be shipping out on the 28th or 29th of December.
Aldebutante is in training in Ocala with Ken LeJeune. He reported that she was a a bit tough to break as she is a little stubborn. However she is going to the track everyday with a few other fillies and is going well. Our Came Home filly in Texas has done very well. She has an official name which is Rampillion. I have no idea what it means but of all the names given it seemed to fit. Plus it would sound good when she is selling at the Fasig Tipton Fall auction after she wins the 2010 BC Distaff! I'm sure Steve will give the official meaning and origin of the name and even use it in a sentence.

Update
Sumwonlovesyou is doing well in her return to the track. She is going to start going back to the track tomorrow, jogging 1 1/4 mile to 2 miles for about 2 weeks before resuming galloping. We are pointing for a late January/early February start for her 2008 debut.
Kickin n Screamin is also doing well. She is starting to pick up a bit of weight and her coat is looking better despite the deteriorating weather conditions. She is also going to step up a bit in her training and will probably have an easy work at the end of next week.
Aldebutante arrived in Ocala last weekend in good order. She is at Royal Oak training Center with Kenny LeJeune who is as good as it gets in terms of getting young horses ready for the races.
The Came Home filly also arrived in her winter quarters last weekend. She made it down to Texas in good shape and is with Scott Cole who used to be one of my assistants. Scott is also very good with young horses and really likes the filly.

Sumwonloves you returns...
Sumwonlovesyou returned to the barn at Churchill Downs yeaterday afternoon. She looks very good, albeit hairy, and her growth on her left hind leg seems to have resolved itself completely. We will be walking her under tack for a week or so to get her used to carrying weight on her back and build her back muscles up since she hasn't had a rider for quite awhile. We will then jog her for a couple of weeks, pretty much until she tells us she is ready to do a little more. Hopefully she is ready for a work around mid December. I am shooting for the first week of February as a target date for her return though that could change in either direction depending on a lot of factors including weather. There is a strong possibility that we may head to Oaklawn rather than Fair Grounds this winter. Though this is not final, I am leaning that way at this time.
Kickin N Screamin is settling in fine and I am happy with with the way she is doing. We have started her on the best possible ulcer medication (gastrogard) and are feeding her pretty much as much as she will eat. We will also give her a small dose of winstrol and vitamin and iron buildup shots to move her in the right direction. Cherie had her out on the track this morning and said that she felt relaxed and traveled fine underneath her. She may not make a start at Churchill as there is no race that makes sense for her. I am pretty sure that she will go to Tampa for the winter. There are a few races in the 1st condition book for her and the competition should be something she can handle.

Sumwon, the new horses and one more...
Sumwonloves is doing very well and is going to come back to the racetrack in another 10 days or so.
The yearlings are also doing fine and will be heading south late next week.
We are going to try to claim one tomorrow, we currently have 4 potentials in three races so hopefully we will get one.
I also want to let you guys know we probably will have horses in both New Orleans and Tampa this winter, with trips to Oaklawn or Gulfstream possible.
